The Professional Technical Learning Center started as a way to help change a broken health care system. With extensive experience in the medical field, founder and CEO Yvonne Hale has seen first-hand the deficit of well-trained medical staff. Some existing training courses for pharmacy technicians, health care service providers, or that teach essential skills are not as thorough as they should be. The students coming from these training courses are ill-prepared for the real-life scenarios they will encounter, impacting actual lives.
The mission of PTLC is to provide this thorough and comprehensive medical training in a unique way that ensures students are fully prepared for actual scenarios in the field. Whether already working in health care or considering a career change, PTLC encourages professional transformation and builds and strengthens the skills that make a difference.
While the primary training area for PTLC is traditional medicine and health care services, there is the recognition that homeopathic remedies can also be effective. Therefore, training courses in essential oil compounding techniques are available. These techniques are transferable to other pharmacy work settings and underscore a desire to achieve good health and wellness in every way possible as part of a functional health care system.
Aside from being one of its kind secondary training schools in Virginia recognized by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, providing much-needed Pharmacy Technicians to serve as a critical component of the health care workforce, PTLC is a school with a purpose to change mindsets.
The underlying message to all PTLC students is that it is never too late to rebuild, renew, and empower themselves in their careers. That it is "OK to fail, as to fail is just a first attempt at learning," and that they are learning from mistakes in a classroom setting to build true competency and precision in details that make PTLC students levels above their peers. Once you change your mindset, you can change your life.
